I’m so tired of seeing people give up on their ships because they aren’t “realistic” or whatever.
Isn’t the point of a fandom to obsess over impossible and unpopular ships? Sure, your ridiculous head canons for your equally ridiculous ship will probably never happen. But, COME ON, PEOPLE. It’s a fictional world no matter how you ship it, so have fun with it. And if you are lucky enough to find a weird niche in a fictional world, where you can go on crazy rants with your internet friends and immerse yourself in sappy (but more often, sexy) fanfic, then fucking go for it! Defend yourself, because this mess you created for yourself makes you happy. You were able to find a weird, and slightly insane little world to pour your feelings and creative energy into. You sit and dissect every scene between your pairing for the slightest hand graze between them, because dammit if it doesn’t make you smile every time they do. And if your pairing never has their happily every after, so what? Did you enjoy going out of your way for them while they slowly went nowhere? Good. Because I did, too.
Go down with your ship, even if you’re the only person on board. And for God’s sake, people, don’t put others down for what they enjoy just because you only ship what is blatantly put in front of you. Who fucking cares? Ultimately, through the good fics and the bad, we’re all just fans here, aren’t we?
